Tobacco-Free Community Partners carry out strategic common theme campaigns designed by the Vermont Department of Health and implement activities community-wide.
Example Common Theme Campaigns:
- 8 out of 10 campaign - correcting misperceptions. Materials supplied by the Vermont Department of Health included spaghetti floor clings, rubber ketchup packets, $8 bills, temporary tattoos, and other promotional items to support the message that some things just aren't what they seem-- 8 out of 10 Vermont teens choose not to smoke.
- Every Try Counts campaign - supporting individual effort to quit tobacco use through the network of resources offered by Vermont State. Materials supplied by the Vermont Department of Health included quit tip cards, bar coasters with 5-minute games, coffee sleeves with craving tips, distraction putty, and other promotional items to support the message that every try counts-- try one or more of the Vermont Quit Network resources and use the tips provided to get through tobacco cravings that typically last only five minutes.
Community Participation & Activities by TFCP:
- Community and school fairs,
- Classroom presentations and hands-on activities,
- Community-wide events such as MAYFEST,
- Provide material for distribution,
- Worksite smoking and butt discarding policy consultation,
- Support and participate in relevant community groups,
- Personalized activities for specific groups or organizations such as teens parents or preschoolers,
- And much, much more!
