Official Photo Contest Rules
Term:
The Tobacco Free Community Partner's Facebook Photo Contest begins Friday, April 4, 2009, and ends Friday, May 4, 2009, at 2pm Eastern Standard Time (EST). By submitting an entry, each contestant agrees to the rules of the contest and states that they are a current student, in grades 6-12 at the following schools: Mount Anthony Union Middle School, Mount Anthony Senior High School, Career Development Center, Southshire School, Grace Christian Academy, School of Sacred Heart and Hiland Hall.
Who may enter:
6-12 grade students at the following schools: Mount Anthony Union Middle School, Mount Anthony Senior High School, Career Development Center, Southshire School, Grace Christian Academy, School of Sacred Heart and Hiland Hall.
What to enter:
Photograph must be of tobacco pollution and waste. Tobacco products eligible for use are: cigarettes, cigars, cheroots, stogies, periques, granulated, plug cut, crimp cut, ready rubbed, and other smoking tobacco, snuff, snuff flour, Cavendish, plug and twist tobacco, fine-cut, and other chewing tobaccos, shorts, refuse scraps, clippings, cuttings, and sweepings of tobacco, and other kinds and forms of tobacco prepared in a manner suitable for chewing or smoking in a pipe or otherwise, or both for chewing and smoking.
Photographs must have been shot by the entrant during the contest period. (April 4, 2009 through May 9, 2009).
All entrants must have a valid Facebook profile and join the Tobacco Free Community Partner Facebook group prior contest closing.
Cropped photos are eligible for entry. We will accept digitally or otherwise enhanced or altered photos. Minor adjustments, including spotting, dodging and burning, contrast and slight color adjustment or the digital equivalents, are acceptable.
No photos in which a person is recognizable are permitted.
Photographs that have won any other contests or have been published in magazines and newspapers are not eligible. Photos that violate or infringe upon another person's copyright are not eligible. By entering you certify that you are the artist and that this photo is your original work, is neither copy written nor the property of anyone else.
How to enter:
- Please submit photographs on-line through our Facebook group page, TOBACCO FREE COMMUNITY PARNTERS.
- First upload your photo to your personal profile on Facebook.
- Join the Tobacco Free Community Partners Facebook Group.
- Post your photo to the photo section of our group page.
- In the caption area, include the following information, formatted as shown;
- Name, Grade, School
- Location of Photo
- Three sentences that describe your feelings about the image in your photo.
- Copy and paste this statement at the bottom of your posting:
I certify that the photo is my original work. I certify the photo has never been copyrighted or, if copyrighted, that I am the sole copyright owner and that I have the right to distribute the photo. I certify that I am the Facebook account owner and eligbile participate as stated by the rules posted on the Facebook page and Tobacco Free Community Partners website.
Entries which are not formatted in this manner or will be considered ineligible and will be disqualified from the contest.
We do not accept photographs submitted through email or US postal service. Submit no more than one photograph. We do not accept more than one contestant per Facebook account.
High-quality scans of non-digital photographs are acceptable. Digital photographs should be taken at the highest resolution possible. The top 10 finalists may be asked to submit a high-resolution file or an original negative, print or slide. Original photographs will be returned to finalists.
Any photograph reproduced for publication or promotional use only will include a photographer credit. The Tobacco Free Community Partners will not be required to pay any additional consideration or seek any additional approval in connection with such uses.
Entry deadline:
All entries must be received at on the Tobacco Free Community Partners Facebook page by midnight Eastern Time, Monday, May 4, 2009.
Judging:
Judging will be conducted by members of the Tobacco Free Community Partners group. Winning photographs may be reproduced for future display at a Tobacco Free Community Partners event or used in publication or publicity. Photographers keep full ownership of the image and will be credited for their work. Decisions of the judges will be final.
The first 50 entrants will receive a t-shirt. The grand prize winner will be chosen from 10 finalists. All 10 finalists will receive a t-shirt and additional noncash prizes. The grand prize winner will receive a brand new Blackberry Pearl cellular phone from A Wireless Solution retail store in Bennington, Vermont. Grand prize does not include activation, contract, data charges or service fees.

The 10 finalists and grand prize winner will be notified of their status by May 12, 2009, and will appear on our Web site and Facebook Page on or after May 12, 2009.
The contest is void where prohibited or restricted by law. Tobacco Free Community Partners reserves the right to cancel the contest or modify these rules at its discretion. Decisions of the Judges will be final.
Prizes:
